Course Length: 16 hours (4-days, 4 hours each day).

Course Description:
The goal of this course is to help continuity practitioners understand continuity roles and responsibilities, and provide the knowledge sets, skills, and tools necessary to help develop and maintain a viable continuity plan for their organization and community.

Course Objectives:
• Describe National Continuity Policy, continuity guidance, directives, and background.
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of key personnel involved in developing and maintaining a continuity plan.
• Describe the essential function identification process.
• Describe how to conduct a Business Process Analysis (BPA) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA).
• Identify mitigation options to reduce an organization's risk and key planning elements to support those options.
• Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts and strategies for developing and maintaining a viable continuity plan.

Target Audience:
Tribal, state, county, and local continuity stakeholders.

Resources Required: **NOTE: The following prerequisite is mandatory and must be completed before requesting enrollment. Waivers will not be granted under any circumstance. Certificate of completion or FEMA IS Transcript must be uploaded during registration.
• IS-1300: Introduction to Continuity - This mandatory prerequisite is a self-paced online course to be completed at: http://training.fema.gov/IS

This course is delivered online. Details (including access information) will be emailed to students before the start of the course.

Signup Details: *Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the DEMA Training Branch beforehand for further information.
