Instructor Training Course (ITC) is a five-day course that prepares emergency responders to deliver lectures and hands-on training in their local jurisdictions. The course is conducted in two phases: fundamental principles and applied principles. During the fundamental principles, phase participants receive an overview of adult learning, task analysis, risk, and hazard analysis, learning objectives and lesson plans, communication skills, instructional delivery and multimedia, testing and evaluations, and after action reviews. Then, during the applied principles phase, participants put these lessons into practice through a series of practical training sessions.

All participants must have a FEMA Student Identification (SID) Number. Please visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid to obtain/verify your FEMA SID. For assistance, contact the FEMA SID Help Desk at 1-866-291-0696. Students will be required to have their FEMA SID on the first day of class.

Signup Details: *Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the Training Office beforehand for further information.

*This course qualifies for AZ POST continuing training credit. If you are a Law Enforcement Officer & would like to request a POST Certificate, contact the DEMA Training Office at training@azdema.gov or 602-464-6225 once you have successfully completed this course.
