This course is designed for personnel from any professional background who may become part of a community response to a bombing event. This interactive, instructor-facilitated program employs case studies and research-based information designed to enhance medical preparedness for and response to blast effects. Breakout sessions address considerations and concerns specific both to medical responders and emergency planners.

Students are encouraged to ask questions and to create a to-do list of items they don’t have the answers to, so they have a list of tasks to address when they return to their jurisdiction.

Resources Required: FEMA REQUIREMENT:
In addition to enrolling on this site; participants must also have a FEMA Student Identification (SID) Number. A FEMA SID is required to participate in training through FEMA Training Providers and will serve as your personal identification number in place of your Social Security Number. Please visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid to create your FEMA SID account. Students will be required to have their FEMA SID on the first day of this class.

Signup Details: Target Audience- Fire, Law Enforcement, SWAT, Tactical Medics, EMS, Hospital personnel, Physicians, Nurses, Emergency Management, City, county, state and federal medical, private industry, CERT, Dispatcher.

*Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the Training Branch beforehand for further information.
