This course is the latest in the hazardous weather series of classes produced in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS). It is designed to be conducted jointly by NWS warning coordination meterologists and state emergency management staff for local emergency managers and those who have an interest in this topic. The class includes lecture, discussion, case studies and exercises.


*This FEMA course is an elective for the Advanced Professional Series (APS) program.


Target Audience:
Emergency Management staff; Local, County, State and Tribal Government Units; Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, and Hospital providers; School Staff and Administrators; Volunteer Agencies active in disaster or exercise.

*This FEMA course is an elective for the Advanced Professional Series (APS) program.

*Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the Training Branch beforehand for further information.

*This course qualifies for AZ POST continuing training credit. If you are a Law Enforcement Officer & would like to request a POST Certificate, contact the DEMA Training Branch at training@azdema.gov or 602-464-6225 once you have successfully completed this course.
