Course Length: 12 hours.

Course Description:
This FEMA course is an elective course for the Advanced Professional Series (APS) program. Participants will be provided with the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement an evacuation and re-entry plan for their jurisdiction. It uses a community's vulnerability analysis and evacuation plan (participants are encouraged to bring a copy of both of these from their jurisdiction). It also addresses evacuation behavior and recommends methods to make evacuation and re-entry more efficient. Note: This course DOES NOT address the decision to evacuate or re-enter.

Target Audience:
Those responsible for planning, implementing, and carrying out evacuations within a jurisdiction should attend this course as a team. This includes, but is not limited to, local, Tribal and State government emergency program managers, emergency planners, and response personnel. Emergency Management staff; Local, Tribal, County and State Government Units; Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, and Hospital providers; School Staff and Administrators; Volunteer Agencies active in disaster or exercise.

*Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the DEMA Training Branch beforehand for further information.

*This course qualifies for AZ POST continuing training credit. If you are a Law Enforcement Officer & would like to request a POST Certificate, contact the DEMA Training Branch at training@azdema.gov or 602-464-6225 once you have successfully completed this course.
