Full Description
Course length: 32 hours.  This course is designed to provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Planning Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team. These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) managing the planning cycle, and 2) tracking resources and incident status. In break-out groups, students will use the Planning Section Chief Position Task Book to list common responsibilities, roles, and/or duties between their current position and that of a Planning Section Chief.

Target Audience:
NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-Specific training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to Functional, Support, or Unit Leader positions on Type 3 or 4 AHIMTs, or by those persons whose agencies require them to be credentialed/certified in those positions.

Completion of this class is a requirement for credentialing for some positions through the Arizona Qualification System (AQS).

Prerequisites:
**NOTE** The following prerequisites are mandatory and must be completed before requesting enrollment. Waivers will not be granted under any circumstance. Certificates of completion or a copy of your transcript showing completion of the following classes must be uploaded during registration.

*Enrollment Policy: Students must have the status of “Enrolled” to attend any class or event. Students who are “Waitlisted” or “Pending Approval” will not be allowed to attend the class. If a student needs to cancel enrollment, please do so as early as possible to allow someone on the waitlist to be enrolled.

*Attendance Policy: Students must attend at least 90% of the class to be able to receive credit. Should a student need to miss any portion of the class, they must contact the DEMA Training Branch beforehand for further information.
